This template will create the mortise to accept a ball catch or ball latch strike plate. The ball latch is installed into the top of the door and its ball will ride against the strike and hold the door closed against the strike plate. Just like all of our Router Templates, use a 5/8” outside diameter router template guide on your router and a 1/2” hinge mortising bit with this template.
