This clamp-on template uses no nails to hold the template to the door, just clamp it to the door face using your clamps. Template is adjustable for door thickness. The finish mortise of 5/8” (15.8mm) x 10-53/64” (275mm) is produced by mortising without the red block off tabs in place. With the two red block off tabs in place the template creates the deep pocket mortise of 5/8” x 7-7/8”. Use a 1/2” router bit with a 5/8” Template Guide to produce a perfect mortise.
