Retrofitting or installing new Schlage AL & ND Series cylindrical locks and the Corbin Russwin CL3300 lock. This drill template will locate on the 2-1/8” hole bored in the door face using the built in alignment plug. Red plastic door edge stops are supplied to set the alignment on a 2-3/8” or 2-3/4” backset position and with the stops removed a 5” backset position. Two 5/8" long hardened steel 5/16” drill bushings are located on 2-3/4” centers to provide perfect locations for the 5/16” holes to be drilled through the door for this Schlage and Corbin Russwin lock. Template dimensions: 5-1/2” x 8”. Clamp this template drill guide to the door face and drill your two 5/16” holes in the exact location. The hardened steel drill bushings used in this tool will allow hundreds of holes to be drilled without causing wear on the bushings. Cheaper plastic versions of this tool do not use hardened steel drill bushings and their bushings will wear out quickly requiring the tool to be tossed out and replaced.
