The Von Duprin Model 6223 Electric Strike for wood doors is a complicated mortise but is made simple with this Templaco three piece template set. All templates are clamp-on configured so no nails or screws will be needed to attach the templates to your expensive wood door. Simply clamp the templates to the door face and use either a plunge or standard base router to complete the mortise using the three templates. Template number 1 mortises both the edge and face of the mortise, template number 2 produces the deep mortise for the latch body and template number 3 cuts the final finish edge mortise. Templates are self-centering, mark a line on the door edge, then simply align each template to that line or even better clamp a piece of wood on the door face to produce a fixed stop position and move each template to that position to align the templates. The deep mortise for this installation requires the use of 1/2” router bit with a 4-1/4” length or some hand finish work to complete the deep mortise if the longer bit is not available. All other mortises can be made with our standard SRB-1 or SRB-2 router bit and our TG-1 Template Guide attached to your router.
